Susan Flores Confesses "Yeah, Paul killed Kristin..."

We have known about this for a few years now since it occurred when Susan Flores was arrested by Arroyo Grande Police Sgt. David Sanchez. She was arrested for assaulting me (Dennis Mahon) because she was unhappy with the fact that we won't just stop looking for Kristin.

The arrest occurred out on the sidewalk in front of her home. Her backyard is one of the possible places where we believe Kristin's body may be hidden. During those days I would be designing this website while sitting in my car in front of her home.

I was on a public street and was behaving 100% legally. After finishing one of my chapters, I would then drive to an internet cafe and publish the chapter so that everyone could get a better understanding of the case - beyond what they saw in the media.

The story was always the same - the Flores would call the cops and in minutes they would arrive. They would ask to see my license and insurance and then politely tell me to be careful and recommend that I leave.

They never arrested me nor ordered me to leave because they knew I was behaving legally.

On this particular day, Susan came out of the house, blew past Sgt. Sanchez and began yelling and swinging at me. It only lasted a few seconds because as I have said, Sgt. Sanchez was just a few feet away. He quickly cuffed her and a second officer led her to the backseat of the patrol car.

While this was happening, other patrol cars arrived at the scene and they soon huddled together about 15 - 20 feet behind the squad car. The back window was down about half way.

It was at this point that Susan Flores (she was cuffed with her hands in front) raised her hands and made a gun sign - looked at me and mouthed the word 'POW".

I immediately interrupted the officers huddle but there was nothing they could do because no one saw it. A few moments later - she yelled out of the car, "Yeah, Paul killed Kristin ....(there was a few seconds pause)....and he got that Modafeeni girl too!)

Again - I immediately got the attention of the Arroyo Grande Police but once again - they did not hear it.

The DA never pressed charges against Susan Flores for this assault. They let the Flores off the hook.

A few days later I received a phone call from San Luis Obispo Detective Steve Crawford and he spent nearly 45 minutes with me going over every single detail of the incident.

I remember he asked me about Susan alluding to her son being a serial killer. He wanted to know if her linking her son to Kristen Modafferi's disappearance was something I felt she 'knew and was revealing' or was she just 'instinctively lashing out' at me and was screaming whatever she though we cause the most damage - whether or not it was true?"

I told Detective Crawford that I thought it was the latter.

Believe it or not, one day the phone rings at the Modafferi household and Kristen Modafferi's mother, Debbie answers the phone and it is Susan Flores on the line. She wanted to know who I was, what was my motive and what right did I have to come across the country and bother her family.

To know Mrs.Modafferi is to know what just a friendly human is. In this case though, Debbie let her have it and hung up on Susan.

This Flores family is not like yours or mine.

I never really made too much of this incident because it involved mentioning Kristen Modafferi's name. For one thing, Kristen Modafferi may still be alive. No one has heard from her since June 23rd and the Modafferi's have prepared themselves for the worst - however - she may still be alive.

I recently sat down with Bob and Debbie Modafferi and asked then how the would feel if I mentioned this on this website. They both gave me their permission and so that is why you can read the details now.

I don't believe Paul Flores is involved with Kristen Modafferi's disappearance - but heck, anything is possible. If nothing else - it will put Kristen's name out in front of people who have never heard of her case - so for that reason alone - I asked the Modafferi's for their permission.
